Hoppy Easter Weekend!

Anabelle had her first track meet on Saturday and I was so, so proud of her. When we got to the large Pike High School stadium she went directly on the field with no crying or hesitation. If you know Ana, you know how HUGE that is. She warmed up and went to her events by herself. She placed 2nd in the long jump (picture below) and 9th in the 100 meter dash. After the 100 meter dash race, she told me that the reason she was so behind was that the gun scared her (duh, why didn't we explain the start gun?) and she had to go potty really bad, but was afraid she'd miss her race. I can tell such a difference from soccer to track. She has allowed this experience to build her self esteem and I'm so glad we decided to sign her up.

We spent Easter Sunday at Uncle Tom and Aunt Nancy's house in Greenwood. The kids had an awesome time and I ate a ton of yummy food. Although we missed Mike (he was in Orlando for the Horizon League Golf Championship), Aunt Nancy's turned out to be a blast. There was an Easter egg hunt, cookie decorating and tons of game playing.

As for me, I've had enough jelly beans, cookies and cosmos to make any normal person sick. I'm off to bed with a new, more disciplined week ahead.
