Say What?
Today Anabelle told me a little girl who has been consistently picking on her at daycare's before/after school program, pinched her. A little frustrated with the fact that Ana doesn't ever stick up for herself I responded with the first thing that came to mind, "Why don't you just pinch her back?" I said. Anabelle responded, "Mommy, how am I supposed to pinch her back if she has her backpack on?" Doh!
To clarify... I don't condone Anabelle pinching back or retaliating in any way. I did explain that if she didn't like getting pinched that she should never pinch someone else; do onto others, right?

Anabelle's elementary school is having a blood drive tomorrow. Anabelle, who wants to be involved in every single activity outside of the school day, came home to proudly tell me about the blood drive and how I should participate only to then ask, "Mommy, what is a blood drive?" Have you ever tried to explain a blood drive to someone who doesn't know what one is? Try it. Not easy! After my attempted explanation Ana decided that she didn't want herself, or me, anywhere near that blood drive.
