Gobble Gobble
What a great Thanksgiving weekend. Mike, the girls and I stayed home and hosted Mike's parents, Suze & Gary. The days were jam-packed, but fun!
Wednesday Anabelle's school had a spirit day. Students were to come to school in mismatched clothes and Ana did a good job of picking out the perfect outfit. She enjoyed her day, which included dressing up like a pilgrim, sampling a Thanksgiving feast and learning the story of the first Thanksgiving.
Wednesday night Suze and Ana made a few Turkey cookie creations that were super yummy!
Ana also made a list of what we needed to do after Thanksgiving to get ready for Christmas. Just in case we forgot! In case you need a translation, the list says ornaments, Christmas tree, presents and star!
Thanksgiving was a success. Mike used the new oil-less turkey fryer and we had tons of food!
Leon, our Elf on the Shelf showed up Thanksgiving night and is here to keep an eye on Ana &
Emilia for Santa. The good behavior lasted about 30 minutes, with a few random glances up at Leon. After that, we all pretty much forgot he was here...even Mike and I, who are responsible for moving him every morning. We wake in a panic realizing our forgetfulness and spring out of bed to change his position before Ana catches him in the same spot.
Friday we went to get our Christmas tree at Frazee Gardens. We were there and back in 20 minutes! Record time. We are definitely not a picky family. Plus, it was super cold!
While the tree was resting at home, we all went out to dinner. Emilia loved the salsa, although it was probably too spicy for her. She'd cover her mouth after every bite full but then quickly ask for more, more.
We also made the 2010 ornaments on Friday, a tradition that Suze created when the kids were born. This year was stockings!
Saturday was a Butler game day. We spent the afternoon at Hinkle for the Butler vs. Evansville match up. Emilia was super friendly, poking every stranger as we walked by, apparently trying to make new friends.
Sunday was a day for decorating. Now that the bunk beds and new dressers are in place, we started putting up the wall decorations in the girls room. Here is a few of the pictures... more to come once we finish.
We also decorated the tree together on Sunday after strategically placing it in the corner so we could zone it off from Emilia.
It's hard to believe Christmas is about three weeks away. Presents are all bought (almost), decorations are all put up and we've started the countdown to break! Bring it on!
