Oh Baby!
Surprise! We're pregnant. Mike and I were shocked to learn that next February we will be welcoming a new baby to the family. No, this was not planned and it's been a challenging few weeks. I've had severe morning sickness. The doctor has put me on three different anti-nausea medications and I've tried everything including preggie-pops and an all-saltine diet. I lost about 10lbs initially, but seem to be slowly getting better. Mike has been incredible while I've been out of commission, only once has he risked his life by asking, "Don't you think if you just had a positive attitude you'd feel better?" I'm praying I'm at least back to 80% before Butler athletic season starts in two weeks.
While everyone in the family has been extremely supportive, Anabelle has not been quite as excited. When we told her about the new baby, without pause, she started to cry hysterically saying that she "didn't want to live with two babies." Since then she's warmed up to the idea little by little, only bringing it up when Emilia's crying, reminding me that, "see Mommy, we are going to have two babies crying at the same time while I'm trying to watch TV!!"
Our plan is to move the two girls into Ana's current room after buying a new bunk-bed bedroom set. We'll have to wait and see if Emilia's ready to move to a big girl bed by January. If not, we'll probably keep the baby in our room for awhile after he/she is born. We are also considering putting our house on the market in May, after maternity leave, to see if we can find something bigger. We also are in the market for a new non-minivan car. Whew! Let the fun begin.
