Lloyd "Spike" Melody, 89, of Bitely, Michigan, passed away, April 13, 2010, at Spectrum Health Hospital in Reed City. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana, November 12, 1920 to Waclaw and Michalina Mlodzinski. Lloyd served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. While stationed in England, he met and married his wife Gladys Johnson. He was a Field Forces boilermaker at Inland Steel Co. The Family has spent summers in Bitely, Michigan since 1957, Lloyd and Gladys moved to Bitely, Michigan permanently, after retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Ann's church, the Bitely VFW, and Past President of Glen Park Isaac Walton League. He is survived by his wife, of 65 years, Gladys Melody, of Bitely, Michigan; son, Alan (Roberta) Melody; daughter, Janice (Tom) Hines; son, Ronald Melody and Natalie Cebulski, all of Indiana; four granddaughters; three great-grand daughters and one sister, Irene Fels, of Missouri. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and John Romanowski. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 17, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Baldwin, Michigan.
