It's Been Awhile
My sister AJ reminded me today that it's been awhile since my last post. Boy, has it! We've had a tough couple of weeks. Anabelle had croup, then Emilia had a cold that turned into an ear infection, then Ana had a 48-hour fever of 104. We thought it would never end! Through all of that I had a tough time finding something inspiring to write about.
I guess I could have told you about the time Anabelle asked me if she could marry two boys. You know why? So they could stand on both sides of her, put her feet in their hands and lift her, "like the cheerleaders, Mommy." All of this in a wedding gown? Very practical!
I could also tell you about the time on our drive home from daycare she asked me what college was. I told her that it was a place you go after high school to help you decide what kind of job you want to have. I then listed all kinds of different jobs like an astronaut, a teacher, a policeman, or someone who works with the teamers like Daddy. Anabelle thought about if for a moment then said, "Mommy, I want to go to college to be a princess."
Then there's that time when Mike and Ana were driving to Butler on their "Daddy Date" to attend Anabelle's first Volleyball match. Along the way, something on the side of the road really inspired Ana and she yelled, "That's frickin cool, Daddy!" It took Mike about five minutes to compose himself from the shock and hysterics that followed.
Then there's Ana's sudden burst in tall tales. Let's see, in the past two weeks she's been punched in the back at school so hard it started to bleed. She's been the only good kid at school and gotten to take a walk to the park down the street, by herself! Oh, and apparently she repeatedly askes the teachers at school for water, in which they refuse and she nearly dies from dehydration. I think I sense a theme.
At least she has an imagination.
